South Norwood Community Kitchen is a community-led, grassroots group that uses food and people power to build new ways to live alongside each other based on care, solidarity and justice. They take food that would otherwise go to waste and create delicious, healthy meals from their community cafe 5 days per week for hundreds of local people experiencing the sharp edge of homelessness, welfare cuts and the hostile environment.

 

As well as organising fundraising events, collecting food bank items at our cafes and donating store cupboard essentials to the Kitchen, we provide work opportunities for SNCK's young people who have experienced the criminal justice system, helping them rebuild their lives and us understand the complexity of disadvantage and poverty that exists on our doorstep.
